Severe gingival recession is that the root of a tooth is exposed due to an excessive tooth brushing with toothpaste. Severe gingival recession causes hyper tooth sensitivity and tooth decay in the roots, and it does not look good. In many cases, the exposed root surface would be mostly covered with augmented gingiva.
