Dr. Yamashita holds dental licenses in both the United States and Japan. He is a board certified periodontist and oral implant surgeon in the US.  He also earned board certification in prosthodontics in Japan.  Dr. Yamashita has dedicated himself to dental education and research for decades at the University of Michigan.  He was a faculty member of the Univ. of Michigan Dental School and an NIH investigator.  For his accomplishment Dr. Yamashita received several international awards.  Although Dr. Yamashita accomplished a lot in his academic career and scholarly activity, he loves clinic as well.  The areas of his clinical expertise include treatment of periodontal diseases, periodontal plastic surgery, oral implant surgery, periodontal regeneration therapy, and treatment of osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ).  Dr. Yamashita is an individual who loves helping people in need.
